King Size Eggs are packed in individually designed paper boxes. King size means that the boxes contain only size L/XL eggs weighing more than 63 grams each. Another major feature of this 6-egg paper box product is that King Size Eggs originate from alternative (deep-litter) housing systems. It means that these eggs are laid by hens which are not confined to batteries but allowed to move around freely and scratch on the ground. Deep-litter housing allows hens to move around feely on the area, scratch in the fresh straw and lay their eggs in nests. Typically, the movement of hens kept in such housing systems is not limited to certain parts of the available area.
